Sexual Assault Survivors' Support & Processing Group

NEW Sexual Assault Survivors' Support & Processing Group

The intention of this group is to provide support and psychoeducation for survivors of sexual assault.

Group participants will learn about how trauma can affect our bodies, minds and relationships, as well as learn mindfulness skills for healthy coping. Members are encouraged to both share their experiences and offer support to other members as we discuss topics such as survival, intimacy, shame, coping mechanisms, justice, sexuality and individual trauma narratives.

Each client will be asked to complete a brief screening prior to enrollment to screen for group appropriateness.

Safety and confidentiality will be emphasized throughout. The group is limited to a maximum of 12 members and offered in a closed group format. No new members will be introduced once the 12-week meeting cycle begins.

WHEN: Thursdays, 10 am, for a 12-week period

COST: This group is offered free of charge through the Victims of Crime Act grant
