Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteers must be at least 21 years old, pass a criminal background check, and complete 30 hours of pre-service training. A CASA volunteer is the “voice of the child”. Advocates are appointees of the Juvenile Court with recognized responsibilities. CASA Advocates represent the CASA program and others who work for the interest of the child. CASA advocates are highly trained and therefore have the ability to do the job. CASA advocates deal with people honestly and in a professional manner.
