3-hour Cultural Competency CE opportunity for counseling professionals and students, held via Live synchronous Zoom webinar on Friday, November 6, 2026, @ 9:30a – 12:30p CT.

This continuing education workshop introduces counselors to clinical gerontology—the study of aging with a focus on psychological, social, and clinical aspects of later life.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will explore the biology of aging, distinguish typical from pathological aging, and learn about common age-related conditions.
  2. Understand key psychosocial theories of aging, highlighting how they can inform counseling practice with older adults and their families.
  3. Integrating biological, psychological, and social perspectives to support healthy aging and respond effectively to the complexities of later life.

Per NBCC ACEP standards, participants must be present and participating for the duration of the CE except for designated breaks. As such, anyone absent (including camera off) for more than 15 minutes during the presentation, or fails to join any breakout groups, will not be able to receive full CE credit for the event. NOTE: In the event the registrant is unable or unwilling to attend the C.A.R.E. hosted CE, the registrant can request a credit towards a future C.A.R.E. CE. C.A.R.E. does not issue refunds for CE registrations.
