Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the 16th through 22nd is Domestic Violence National Week of Action. Domestic violence and domestic abuse are serious national problems, and Louisiana unfortunately is not exempt. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, more than 5,000 adult women per year living in Louisiana will experience domestic violence.

There are many ways you can become involved, from donating your time or money to wearing purple and using social media. See the below link for some ideas about how you can speak out against domestic violence.
