Active Parenting NOW
The Plaquemines Community CARE Center is pleased to announce an exciting research-based video and discussion workshop called Active Parenting NOW. This program offers an effective and unique approach to improving family life.
Active Parenting NOW brings parents of children ages 5-12 together over a six-week period. At each session parents identify daily family problems and then learn communication skills for solving and preventing them. What kinds of problems? Chore wars, sibling rivalry, homework hassles,…to name a few.
The workshop's goal is to help parents raise children who are cooperative, responsible, and have great character. It also helps develop communication techniques that they will use for the rest of their lives.
Millions of parents across the country have already benefited from the lively Active Parenting video & discussion courses.
Our group coordinator and clinical therapist, Joshua Bourgeois, PLPC, NCC will be leading this Active Parenting NOW group. Each participant will receive a book, which includes activities and worksheets enforcing and expanding on skills and concepts from each of the sessions.
The next Active Parenting NOW group begins September 3, 2015 @ 5:00pm. The group is held on Thursday evenings from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at the Plaquemines Community CARE Center and light refreshments are provided.
